As a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ I was a part of projecting the Jesus film in the streets of villages in Mexico. We would receive permission from village to block off a street and show the Jesus Film in Mexico. The people in the neighborhood would come out of their homes to watch the movie projected in the street after the sun went down. The Jesus film shres the life of Jesus from the gospel of Luke. The movie ends with an invitation for people to give their lives to Christ. Over the years the movie has a been shown by missionaries around the world. Millions of people have came to Christ as a result.
In 2010 I brought pastors together in Mexico City to pray for people in the city to come to Christ. One of the pastors praying with us was the leader of the Charismatic Renewal of Mexico from the Archdiocese of Mexico City. He had the connections in media to bring the Jesus movie to television. A meeting took place with the largest television network in Mexico, and a contract was signed. The video was sent me. I drove to the television studio to drop off the film. On the Saturday night before Easter the Jesus film was seen in all parts of Mexico. The network reported that over 80 million watched the broadcast of the Jesus film. I imagine that many gave their lives to Christ that night from watching the movie.
Precedent was set. During the two years that following the network contacted me each year to show the Jesus Film on the Saturday night before Easter.
